Amanda Markham Consulting specialises in the assessment and management of Indigenous heritage, archaeological and anthropological surveys.

Amanda has completed over 300 cultural heritage surveys throughout Australia, especially in remote outback Australia.

This includes projects in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia under state and territory Heritage and Aboriginal cultural heritage legislation. Projects completed include:

  • large road works corridors
  • mining exploration and mine site construction
  • oil and gas projects
  • commercial, pastoral and industrial infrastructure projects
  • heritage assessment reports

Proponents have included Aboriginal representative bodies, mining and exploration companies, government agencies, community groups and Indigenous stakeholder groups.

henryAll project reports are completed to the highest professional standard to comply with the standards set by relevant state and territory cultural heritage management legislation.

Amanda has worked with Aboriginal community members from over 50 Aboriginal communities across the NT, WA and SA, has an extensive network of established relationships within these communities.

This includes working extensively with Aboriginal people from Arrernte, Adnymathanha, Alyawarre, Anmatyerre, Warlpiri, Gurindji, Jaru, Kaytetye, Warramungu, Luritja, Pintubi, Pertame, Anterkarinja, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara language groups.


  • PhD in Anthropology from the Australian National University
  • BA (Hons) First Class from the University of Western Sydney
  • Current study is an MA in Archaeology from Flinders University in Adelaide.
